This is turned inside out in a fantasy of rejection and ostracize by visiting Karekare beach. One feels that one does not belong to it and that it does not want one in it, at best one is an exile in Karekare landscape, radically estranged from it – but enduring it .

The self feels that it is unreal beach with no end except the fires of hell – but visitor has enough integrity and reality testing left to know that it is real deal beach and the objective identity converge but never meet.
